iQ Solutions Raises More Than $30K for United Way of the National Capital Area

Rockville, MD—iQ Solutions, a health communications, education, and information technology firm of more than 300 employees with headquarters in Rockville, MD, raised more than $31,000 for the United Way of the National Capital Area during its second annual campaign, themed “D.R.I.V.E. To Improve Lives.”

The campaign featured a variety of volunteer opportunities for employees over a 2-week period; meetings at each office location to kickoff a donations drive; promotional e-blasts; fliers and posters to update staff on donations totals; a benefit auction; a barbecue at company headquarters; and a raffle. 

“iQ Solutions projects are national in scope and focused on bridging the quality-of-life gap by providing information and services that encourage healthy living,” said Tom Brackett, Chief Financial Officer.  “Our successful campaign demonstrates our staff’s genuine dedication to improving lives.” 

The company offered up to 8 hours of paid leave to each employee to volunteer at any of several organizations in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia.  Employees volunteered at Manna Food Center, Habitat for Humanity, St. Ann’s Infant and Maternity Home, the Jewish Foundation for Group Homes, Martha’s Table, and the Mental Health Association of Montgomery County.

Employee pledges, the company match of 50 cents for every dollar, and a benefit auction contributed to the total monies raised.
The “D.R.I.V.E. To Improve Lives” theme incorporated iQ Solutions core values—Dedication, Respect, Innovation, Vision, and Excellence—and appeared in all internal communications about the United Way campaign.
