SAMHSA Awards Prestigious Clearinghouse Contract to IQ Solutions

Rockville, Md.—The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has awarded its $57 million SAMHSA Health Information Network (SHIN) contract to IQ Solutions, Inc. Under this contract, IQ Solutions will manage the National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information (NCADI) and the National Mental Health Information Center (NMHIC).

"Winning this contract represents the beginning of a new era in our corporate history," said IQ Solutions president and CEO Ileana Quintas, who started her professional career as a health educator and early on served as an information specialist at the National Clearinghouse for Alcohol Information—NCADI’s predecessor. "The services provided through this contract cut across the same business lines that constitute IQ Solutions’ greatest strengths."

"SAMHSA’s mission is to create a life in the community for people with mental and addictive disorders," Quintas added. "To do that, the public needs easy access to information and resources that will help them overcome the barriers that separate them from good health. NCADI and NMHIC are critical components in that process. IQ Solutions is in the process of recruiting new staff members with knowledge or experience in the areas of substance abuse, mental health, and public health to support this endeavor. The company is accepting resumes from information specialists, warehouse personnel, graphic designers, database specialists, information technology specialists, marketing professionals, administrative support staff, and persons skilled in other disciplines.
