Going the Distance for NFL Hall of Famer Darrell Green and Children in Need
Supporting a nonprofit organization's fundraising efforts with a 360-degree marketing approach
Client: Darrell Green Youth Life Foundation
A range of disabilities, limited educational resources, and unhealthy home environments prevent many children from achieving from academic success. The Darrell Green Youth Life Foundation (DGYLF) was created to develop learning centers to help address the needs of these children.
This worthy nonprofit organization wanted to raise its visibility, and so IQ Solutions provided a fully integrated marketing approach to DGYLF to maximize its exposure. Our staff crafted messages encouraging support of the Foundation and incorporated these into marketing efforts. We developed a farewell/fundraising commercial, which aired on a Jumbotron outdoor screen at Mr. Green’s final NFL game before his retirement, and we designed and created point-of-purchase kiosks for fans to deposit funds for the Foundation. In addition, IQ Solutions provided event support for a luncheon and dinner, and took out a full page ad in the Washington Post. These efforts, along with others, helped raise awareness of the Foundation's worthwhile efforts, which ultimately led to increased donations over time.
